| Many clients qualify for third party payment. The plans I work with the most frequently are:
Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP): If
you have been a victim of crime in British Columbia and the
crime has been reported to the police, you may qualify for
psychotherapy funding from CVAP. Typically, 12 to 24 sessions
are granted, with the possibility of renewing the application.
Their site is
www.pssg.gov.bc.ca/victim_
services/cva/index.htm
If you have been a victim of crime in another province, you
would need to contact the corresponding program in that province.
Programs to compensate victims of crime vary widely between
provinces.
Residential Historical Abuse Program (RHAP): If you were a victim of sexual abuse when you were a child in the care of the provincial government, such as in a foster home, group home or detention centre, you qualify for psychotherapy funding. The length of service provided varies depending on the Health Region where you live. I can help you apply for this service. |
Non-Insured Health Benefits for First Nations and
Inuit People: I have contracted with the federal
government to provide psychotherapy services through this
program for several years. In recent years, funding for psychotherapy
and other health services has been turned over to some individual
bands for administration. If this has happened with your band,
an application for services would need to be filed with them.
If you are not a member of any of these bands, and are still
covered through Non-Insured Health Benefits, I can see you
directly without any application process.
Other Funding Bodies: As I have several years experience in dealing with a wide variety of funding bodies, I am willing to consider working with any third party payment arrangement you may be entitled to. |
